Explore Hands-On at the Greensboro Science Center

One of the best attractions in North Carolina is the Greensboro Science Center. It’s only a two-minute drive from our Greensboro apartments at Legacy at Twin Oaks. The distance learning program is a fantastic option that allows you to interact with an educator virtually. Currently, there are limited tickets available daily; masks are also required at the center. Here’s what you can expect when you visit in person:

The Greensboro Science Center has a zoo, aquarium, and a hands-on museum. At the zoo, you’ll get up close to animals like lemurs and tigers, as well as red pandas. The petting zoo is open on the weekends. At the aquarium, you’ll be entertained by the penguins and otters and amazed by the giant octopus. The museum has displays about weather, as well as cool exhibits with turtles, snakes, and Komodo dragons. You can also experience what it’s like to be an astronaut by watching a film in the OmniSphere’s full-dome theater.

When you’re craving adventure, climb among the trees at SKYWILD. You’ll be able to explore the ropes course for two hours. Your tickets include admission to the science center. It’s an exciting way to celebrate a birthday, an anniversary, or even a first date!

Admission to the zoo, aquarium, and museum costs $16. Locals know about the $1 discount for Senior citizens, children ages 3-13, military, Greensboro residents, college students, and City of Greensboro employees. The museum highly recommends that you purchase your ticket online. There are a limited number of walk-up tickets available each day. Annual memberships are a great deal. For $37.80 you’ll get free entry to the Greensboro Science Center and hundreds of other facilities. You’ll also get 50% off admission to many other venues throughout the country.

The Legacy at Twin Oaks community has many great amenities, such as a clubhouse and resort-style pool, as well as our state-of-the-art fitness center. Nearby attractions like the Greensboro Science Center and other local nonprofits are an added bonus.
